Check is currently being prepared for sending for processing (with ACIC or MoJ). This is a broad status which covers prior to the candidate starting, candidate details, and identity verification.
Applicant action required
The applicant is currently in the identity stage of the process. This status indicates that the applicant to either upload ID or respond to a request for information.
NCC QA verification required
Check is with NCC staff awaiting the verification of the submitted ID
Queued for processing
The check has been processed by NCC staff and is awaiting the next automated dispatch to either the ACIC (Australia) or the MoJ (NZ). These dispatches occur on a regular basis.
Sent for processing
The check has been dispatched to the relevant agency (ACIC or MoJ) and is awaiting the return of results.
Referred for manual review
The check has been referred for a manual review by ACIC. This process is external from NCC and can take up to 15 business days.
Processing response received, needs confirmation
The check has returned, but as per ACIC requirements, the applicant is afforded 3 days to accept, or lodge a dispute in the event there is incorrect information returned. After 3 days, results are released if no action is taken.
NDCO or DCO
Results have been received from the service provider (ACIC or MoJ) and are available for download. NDCO indicates no disclosable court outcomes (clear result) and DCO indicates that there was disclosable court outcomes which should be reviewed.
Note that retention policies apply as per legal requirements and as such ACIC police checks are only available for three months after release.
